J.W. Wiseman Families,

It continues to be a privilege to serve as the principal of J.W. Wiseman Elementary. I am fi lled with gratitude for the trust and partnership of our families, the dedication of our staff, and the spirit of our students. Together, we are building on our tradition of academic excellence and equipping our children with the skills and character traits they need to become productive, successful citizens.

On a personal note, I married a Sumner County native, Bryson Mayberry, and relocated to Gallatin over a decade ago. In the summer of 2021, we welcomed our twin boys, Ralston and Rhodes. We are members of Long Hollow Church and enjoy spending time on the farm and making memories with family and friends. I come from a long line of educators and am proud to be the third generation of Mayberry women to educate and serve the students of Sumner County. I look forward to continuing to lead and learn alongside the Wiseman family while pouring back into the Portland community.

Before my time at Wiseman, I served as an elementary classroom teacher and instructional coach. In 2020, I transitioned into administration as an assistant principal at Guild Elementary in Gallatin. No matter the role I serve in, my commitment is to relentlessly fi nd a way to meet our students — regardless of their diverse circumstances and backgrounds — where they are and ensure they leave our school better prepared for their future.

At Wiseman, we believe our students are our purpose, and our goal is to help them grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Likewise, we are committed to growing together as professionals. When we know better, we do better — for one another and for our students. Each decision made at J.W. Wiseman begins with the “why” of our work: what is best for students. Our students deserve — and receive — dedicated staff members who believe all students can achieve.

A strong relationship between home and school has the power to make a lasting impact — especially when we share the belief that every student can grow and reach their fullest potential.
